Good Ol'Roy - dogfood bag purse by Jamie K. McIntosh.I have been bitten by the purse bug again. Or maybe it’s the change in the weather, reminding me that Spring is already OVER, and I haven’t been on track with my self-imposed deadlines. Either way, be prepared for purses.

Oh yeah—and be prepared for some new clothing projects too. I’m really anxious to hold a new photoshoot with my photographer, and I’m getting on my horse right now, this very minute!

Grocery Bag Elegance

Plastic grocery bags - handbag

This is one of my recent handbags, made from white and tan Kroger Bags, and lined with matching fabric. It is currently for sale at the Jennifer Zingg Studio and Gallery.

I hope to have more of a similar size and style available at my Etsy store soon! And perhaps make myself one while I’m at it…

Corn of Plenty

It seems that I’ve fallen off the blog train lately, haven’t I?
*tsk-tsk-tsk … *

Well, Jason and I have been photographing my new ArtDress (we’re talkin’ stunningly beautiful photos, people!)—and there are new bags in progress, coin purses, new paintings, jewelry, accessories…yipee yahoo!!

This particular bag is made from a corn sack, which was provided by Honest Farm in Midway, KY. I’ve been receiving so many wonderful supplies from all my friends and neighbors, so THANK YOU to everyone!

The aim is to get all of these projects finished in the next few weeks. And still keep my day job. I’ll update you as it happens, so cross your fingers for me!

Exhibit opening next weekend!

I’m winding up some of my “in-progress” artworks to get them ready for my show, which opens this coming Saturday, October 11th! It will be at 6:00 pm, at the Jennifer Zingg Studio and Gallery, located at 210 W. Broadway, Frankfort KY.

I am very much excited to be able to share my art with everyone, and hope you’ll join me for the opening night!

The photo here is a closeup of the plastic Grocery Bag Petticoat, which will be paired with the Milkweed Frock Coat that I’m finishing up today. Other artworks in this show will include some “oldies” from the past, a lot of new recycled and fabric art, various types of wearables, quilted paintings, photographs, and some experimental sculpture.

Also, I’ve just heard that we may be graced with some live music, too…I can’t wait!

Mystery Objet d’Art

I hope I spelled that right.
Okay, I’m posting this REALLY quickly because I REALLY should be in bed right now!

This is part of what I’ve been working on the past few days…I won’t say exactly what it is, but I’ll say that it could very well end up on a runway someday. No, it’s not going to be run over by an airplane, I mean it’s part of an outfit.

But you already knew that, didn’t you?

And I probably won’t be keeping the bows—they’re a bit prissy for my tastes.
